Nigel Graham

Blues Reaction

Nigel Graham and the band certainly cause a reaction wherever they play, Graham’s jaw dropping guitar work has stunned audiences. From the moment he walks on and lets loose with an impossibly fast salvo of notes, the scene and pace of the night is set. The energy of the band does not let up and at some performances you could be forgiven for thinking you are watching the climax of the show rather than the opening number.

Graham roars through the sets at a gut wrenching pace and at times leaps around like a man possessed – possessed with the blues he certainly is. The style and tempo varies from song to song and builds to a wild crescendo that leaves him the band, and most of the audience well and truly drained. The slow blues the band play are just as exciting to experience, with Graham playing some very impressive moaning guitar.

He plays homage to several blues guitar giants, Rory Gallagher – a particular favourite which he has been complemented on at several gigs, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter et al. He plays his own compositions too and autumn 2006 saw the release of the band’s first album “Play Dirty” which they will be out promoting.

This band plays 2 hours of no holds barred kick ass blues-rock. The pounding backbeat supplied by Pat Ross on drums drives the roller coaster blues ride higher and faster. The drivin’ bass of Pete Willsher provides storming back up as the band reach one musical climax after another.

The band has played festivals, pubs and clubs, and has been shown interest from several areas including Radio Caroline, following their first explosive performance at the first Rockinbeer festival in 2004. The band became more selective on where they wanted to play in 2006 & 2007 and therefore reduced the amount of live performances planned. With dates lined up for 2008 and more being confirmed, the band is back out there causing a reaction.

♫ I’d love to see this band live on the strength of this release as they seem to give it all and tear at it without any relapse, my kind of hot gig.        (Merv Osbourne)
