Blooze News 2007 |
December: Pre-Christmas at The Hopbine, Cambridge. A quiet night generally & not what you'd expect for a Christmas bash, there again the whole city seemed to be deserted so guess people were lying low, in wait for the festivities. The band had a enjoyable gig all the same & look forward to returning in 2008.
November: Great debut gig at The Milestone in Ipswich, hope to be returning in 2008, and a return to one of the bands favourites haunts - The Haymakers.
October: No shows this month. Work began on introducing some new material into the bands live set.
September: Some real good gigs this month. including a charity gig at The Moon & Mushroom, many thanks to Ian Tucker and everybody who attended. Quenden Hall played host to a wedding reception (not a regular type of gig for the band) with the bride & groom & guests groovin' the night away to some heavy blues/rock.
August: Sunday 19th - The band had a great time & played a storming set at the Cambridge Rock Festival supporting Thunder, Wishbone Ash, John Otway & Hazel O'Connor etc. More info & photo's to follow soon & congratulations to Dave Roberts & his crew for staging what must be the best festival yet, since it's launch back in 2004.
July : Pat's back on his feet (good to have ya back). First gig at The Spreadeagle in Ipswich & a great nite. Many thanks to landlady Sarah & the lads look forward to returning in the near future.
June : Ian Turner, drummer with Peter Green / Lightning Jack / Boogieband / Nitelife & many many more...very kindly stood in for Pat, at The Crown & Cushion, while he was still recovering from his back injury. Deepest thanks Ian, great working with ya again after all those years. & you did a great job, as always.
May : The Haymakers gig on May 5th has been cancelled due to Pat (drummer) suffering from a back injury, caused by a herniated disc. He's making a slow recovery, but to avoid the band having to cancel any further shows a dep drummer has been lined up to help out until Pat is back on his feet again. Get well soon mate !
April : A rockin' great nite was had by all at The Red Lion in Stevenage. The band look forward to returning in the future. Thanks once again Trev.
March : Good gigs at the Crown & Cushion & The Wrestlers, St Neots. The latter seems to be no more, according to some unwelcome reports in papers. Our commiserations to The Wrestlers landlady, Joanne & her staff, so sad to see another great venue bite the dust, but we're sure it wont be the last we hear from her.
February : The webmasters
finally got the band up on MySpace, complete with two new videos
(which can also be viewed on this website) & a new slideshow too !
Here's the link to to the new video page :

The dreaded flu bug hit the band, forcing them to cancel the gig at the Hopbine for the second time. Sincere apologies to the very patient landlady......third time lucky they hope ! Great nite's at both the Unicorn & Haymakers though
The boys played a stormin' gig supporting 'Raw Gallagher' at the Commemoration Hall in Huntingdon on Friday 2nd......An excellent combination of sheer power and accuracy ! (cheers Dave). Thanks to Dave Roberts (Rockinbeerfest) & all the crew, & the band are looking forward to appearing at the annual Rockingbeerfest Festival in August this year .
January : The band kick off 2007 with their first debut gig of the year at The Wrestlers in St Neots on Friday January 19th. They look forward to seeing you all there.
